At Hanson’s, our Walk and Wade trips are designed for the angler who wants to learn certain parts of the river, for those who want to learn to read water better, and for those who just enjoy methodically covering good water and picking off fish that most fishermen bypass.

Our Instructional trips are just that, a fishing trip with a guide instructing you through the day. Designed for the beginner to the advanced angler, taking you skills to the next level. Topics such as reading the water, fly choice, leader and fly selection, weight distribution, distance casting and nymphing techniques will be covered.

Unlike others all our Walk and Wade trips are exclusively held on the Bow River on our own section of very productive water just south of the corporate city limits of Calgary. Our guides know the water intimately and most of the fish are on a first name basis.

Each trip last five hours and all fly rods, flies, waders and boots are included in the day; all you need is your valid Alberta Sport Fishing Licence.
