Fly Lines
spacer

Fly lines are one of the most vital parts of your equipment. To keep them working like new, follow these steps:

fly Like anything, fly lines work better when they are clean. Mayflies work better when they float, not as an emerger.
fly For a thorough clean, use warm water and dish soap, then apply a line dressing.
fly Never clean your line with "Armor All" - it will dry out and crack in the sun.
fly Remove the line from the reel during the off-season so memory of the line won't set in.
fly When casting heavy lines, always cast with an open loop, this will stop the flies and line from hitting the rod. This is an ugly way to fish so it doesn't matter how tight your loops are when you are down and dirty!
